Shown are(2)ViCATS-LTS-CUSTOM computer based test systems with graphical user interface; each system performs simultaneous tests on the oil and coolant passages of a Front Chain Cover. The machine is high volume (1 million + parts per year) and is robotically loaded and unloaded.

 

The ViCATS leak test systems measure air leakage on adjacent cavities simultaneously at different test pressures and automatically correlate the test results to 25.0 psig. The test specification is not to exceed 7.0 cc/m air leakage @ 25.0 psig. Total test time is (14) seconds, achieving a 4% Gage R & R.

 

The ViCATS leak test systems are controlled by an external PLC and have the capability to test and track both 3.7L and 4.7L parts. Each style part has its own test counters, timers, calibration, and limits.
